Journeying and practices that support it open us up to so many layers and varieties of experience and invite different physiological responses. Thus, how often one considers engaging medicine or meditation or something else is personal and best discussed. It is important to ask whether you have been able to receive some of your last journey’s shares as gifts or if you are still digesting. I recommend implementing practices such as dance, writing, and breath work if things are still percolating. Processing a medicine journey, integrating it into oneself, and implementing it can take months and years depending on what surfaces. And some medicines may show one a lot relative to others as they are quite powerful. A medicine such as cannabis can shapeshift and act as a conduit to support segments of previous processes that started unfolding with potent medicines such as Psilocybin and Ayahuasca. Medicines, dreams, and breathing can work with deep personal and collective psyche experiences so at times there is overlap and cohesion between journeys and states of being accessed in other ways. While not set in stone, below are some general guidelines from which to work from in regard to earliest re-engagement of a macro dose of a medicine and practices that can help one take smaller bites. Happy journeying and also happy life integrating as a continuation of journeying!
